Chef Greg Reyner is infusing Cafe Muse with a little of his fast-casual concept Atomic Chicken’s spirit. The popular Royal Oak eatery known for its outstanding grilled cheese sandwich and new American offerings debuted a new, more casual dinner service concept Dottie’s A Southern Modern Bistro last week. The menu shares many similarities with Atomic’s, though with a notably more refined presentation and the advantage of a full bar.

As Metro Times reports, the restaurant briefly closed this summer for a limited renovation of the bar. The month-long break also gave Cafe Muse time to retool its service and capture a larger portion of the Royal Oak dinner crowd.

Prices are notably easier on the wallet than the previous Cafe Muse menu and dishes lean heavily on comfort foods. You can still find the three-cheese grilled cheese sandwich on the menu as well as iterations featuring bacon or short rib. However, there are also cheffy versions of chicken & waffles, mac & cheese, and biscuits & gravy. Take a peek at the menus below.

Cafe Muse is open daily for breakfast and lunch from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check out the new Dottie’s menu Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. 248-544-4749. Website.
