A dedicated shuttle bus from Nemo’s Bar careened into the entrance of downtown Detroit’s Leland Hotel on Sunday evening after being cut off by a driver on Bagley Avenue near the Cass Avenue intersection. Police and emergency vehicles were on the scene following the crash taking statements and assessing the damage to the bus and three other passenger vehicles.
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that three people were injured in the collision including an 86-year-old pedestrian who was standing in front of the building and two individuals from one of the damaged vehicles. Police say a blue Nissan cut the bus off, causing it to hit the car. The shuttle and the bus then slammed into two parked cars — a Ford Focus and one other sedan — before rolling into The Leland’s entrance. No arrests have been made and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the accident.
