EATER TRACKING — You read that right. The arrival of Pittsburgh’s favorite french-fry topped sandwich chain to metro Detroit is less than a week away. Primanti Bros.’ first Michigan location debuts August 3 in Taylor with another spot in Novi to follow around Labor Day. The Taylor opening coincides with a big free sandwiches for a year giveaway to the first 100 people in line. The doors open at 3 p.m. [EaterWire/Detroit News]

MENU PORN — In case you missed it, Woodbridge’s funkiest pizza slinger opens today in its new brick-and-mortar digs. Take a peek inside Pie-Sci ahead of the opening and scope out the menu below. [EaterWire]

WEEK IN REVIEWS — This week in restaurant reviews Metro Times’ Serena Maria Daniels revisits Antietam, an Eastern Market establishment that the critic acknowledges has had its fair share of challenges maintaining a consistent back-of-house staff. The spot has since found new stability under chef/partner Seth High who’s introduced some new seafood dishes to the menu while keeping fan favorites like the oxtail on offer. Elsewhere, Molly Abraham heaps praise on converted gas station eatery Red Crown. Chef Michael Keys, she writes, has taken the restaurant's Southern smokehouse cuisine "to a higher level with assertive and sometimes even brash flavors throughout the menu." Red Crown receives three stars. [Metro Times/Detroit News]
