Polish Market, part of a small group of independent Eastern European grocery stores in Hamtramck, will close its doors on Monday. BLAC first-reported that store’s operators posted signage over the weekend announcing the shutter. The store's statement said the closure was due to "circumstances beyond our control." Employees confirm to WXYZ that the store wasn't attracting enough business. Staff members have been offered the option of moving to the company’s Troy location, which remains open on Maple Road.
