EVENTWIRE —€” Selden Standard will host a fundraising dinner from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 5 supporting (RED), an organization that helps in the fight against AIDS. The five-course menu includes "seasonal off-menu surprises" and red wine pairings from the restaurant's reserve stock. Tickets are $200. [EaterWire]

NEWS —€” This year's big exhibits at the DIA will take on food and it's intersection with the arts. Debuting in November the museum will showcase Bitter| Sweet, an exhibit that explores why non-native foods like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate became fashionable in Europe during the 18th century. A second exhibit, The Edible Monument, will focus on prints and cookbooks from the 16th and 17th centuries and beyond that display monuments built out of food (think sugar statues). [DBiz]
