It's a sunny soft opening day for Campus Martius's new shipping container restaurant, Fountain Detroit. The upgraded version of the former Beach Bar & Grill swings open this afternoon with preview menus. A rep for the restaurant tells Eater that the kitchen will be ramping up over the next week or so and diners should make sure to bring cash as the credit card system hasn't been set up yet. There's no specific time set for the opening, though you can probably expect to get a cocktail at the bar by 4 p.m. Here's a sneak peek at today's offerings, which include snack boxes and margaritas.:
Michigan Cheese & Fruit - $9
Selections from Pinconning, Zingerman's, and Country Winds Farms; Eastern Market Seasonal Picks
Hummus & Veggies - $8
Toasted Sesame, Parsley Salad, Farm-Fresh Michigan Vegetables
Chips & Guac - $6
La Bagley Tortilla Chips with Fresh Guacamole
The Fountain Detroit plans to adjust hours over the next several weeks. Soft opening hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
