BEER HERE — Downtown restaurant Republic is hosting its first ever beer dinner in the restaurant's upstairs event space. Chef Sarah Welch, who spent her childhood in Jamaica, is serving a Caribbean meal alongside beers from Dark Horse Brewing and Bell's Brewing. Tickets are $50, which includes two beer pairings per course. EXPANSIONS — Naf Naf Grill, a fast-casual Middle Eastern food concept out of Chicago, is plotting a Michigan expansion with locations in the works in Troy and Sterling Heights. [DBiz]

Popa's fondness for whole-animal cooking will be on display throughout the menu, which includes Parfait de Porc (pork rillettes, fat cap, apple butter, toasted baguette, and pickled cherry mostrada), savory éclairs, "This Little Piggy" cassoulet, and more. THE CHAINS —€” Michigan-based chain Happy's Pizza is now slingin' pies in its first full-service, sit-down location in Ann Arbor.
