BOOZE NEWS —€” Following up last fall's transformation into the Bill Murray, Corktown cocktail bar The Sugar House is switching things up again this spring with a tiki drink menu and new signage. Word is the bartenders are also dressing down for a more relaxed island vibe. [Facebook]

THE CRITICS —€” Resident critic of all things popular Molly Abraham revealed a new list of things she doesn't like this week. Her three least favorite trends: Cocktail bars that look like apothecaries ("There's a reason why martinis and Manhattans are classics"), bars with too many beer taps, and blue and white dishtowel napkins ("At least choose a new color combination, would you?"). [The Social Metro]

POP-UPS —€” Forthcoming Eastern Market restaurant Gather is launching is monthly pop-up series at 8 Degrees Plato Detroit on May 1. The menu includes five courses and beer pairings for $60. Gather is also serving at a weekly Taco Tuesday event at Detroit City Distillery beginning at 5 p.m. tonight. [EaterWire]
