After a few nights of soft openings, new Allen Park restaurant and bar Griff's is slated to swing open tonight. Located in the former Big Apple Bagels space on Southfield Road, the restaurant was developed by owner Chris Griffin and chef Steven Kempner known in by some pop-up fans as The Fargin Chef. The 44-seat Downriver eatery features modern American gastropub fare and a full bar with craft cocktails, beer, and wine.
Diners can expect a diverse selection of appetizers like poutine with pulled lamb, samosas, and Scotch eggs. Find plenty of sandwiches and burgers on the opening menu (subject to change) as well, alongside fish & chips, pork tenderloin, and a rotating housemade "sausage of the week." Griff's doors open at 4 p.m. tonight and reservations are strongly recommended. In the meantime, peruse the menus below.
