Hamtramck is receiving a new neighborhood bar this week. Model D reports that Trixie's Bar has taken over the former Turtle & Inky's space on Carpenter Street. Owners Ian and Andrew Perrotta purchased the bar in November and have spent the last few months updating the building with new lighting, equipment, fresh paint, and a stage of live music. It's like "being at a house party with a liquor license," Ian Perrotta says. Trixie's made a soft debut last weekend during the Hamtramck Music Festival and is expected to open officially tonight.

Trixie's Bar hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
