The latest outpost in the growing Sweet Lorraine's macaroni empire is officially open in Midtown. Co-founder Gary Sussman confirms that the new Wayne State-adjacent macaroni restaurant softly opened on Tuesday with afternoon hours.
Located in the former Marwil Bookstore on Cass Avenue and Warren, the 88-seat restaurant's menu offers 15 types of mac and cheese ranging from classic to truffle mushroom, as well as wraps, salads, and brioche grilled cheeses. As the Sweet Lorraine's Mac n' Brewz!' name implies, there's also a full bar with craft beer, house infusions, and sangria. The restaurant plans to eventually offer late-night options and a breakfast menu.
The Midtown restaurant is the first incarnation of the Sweet Lorraine's Fabulous Mac n' Brewz concept. The company launched an ambitious franchise expansion plan in 2013, and Crain's reports the company is slated to open another Mac n' Brewz in Waterford Township next month.
Sweet Lorraine's Fabulous Mac n' Brewz! is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and hopes to expand to 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. beginning next week.
