Selden Standard is Hour Detroit magazine's 2016 Restaurant of the Year. The small plates bar and restaurant is "moving Detroit into a whole new era," says head critic Christopher Cook. Chef Andy Hollyday and partner Evan Hansen opened Selden in the fall of 2014, delivering a seasonal menu and elevated casual atmosphere that was an instant hit with diners and critics alike.
Former Free Press restaurant critic Sylvia Rector named the eatery her 2015 Restaurant of the Year. As further confirmation of the chef's chops, on Wednesday, Hollyday was named a semifinalist for the James Beard Best Chef: Great Lakes award for a second year in a row.
