Casual Midtown restaurant and bar, Sweet Lorraine's Fabulous Mac n' Brewz! is creeping closer to opening day. Co-founder Gary Sussman tells Eater the new dining spot will receive its final inspection on Thursday and expect to see the doors open sometime next week.
The 88-seat restaurant is located on the corner of Cass and Warren in close proximity to the Wayne State Campus. Two firms — Detroit-based Patrick Thompson Design Limited and Birmingham's Dynamic Design — collaborated on the design and remodel. The space features a bright color palette, exposed ductwork, walk-up counters, and a mixture of bar, communal, booth, and four-top seating. Art and signage also pays homage to Detroit and the former Marwil Bookstore. Photographers Michelle and Chris Gerard got a first-look inside the eatery.
