Birmingham-based Griffin Claw Brewing Company is poised for another expansion. The brewery and distillery announced today plans to take over the former Eastside Mario's American Italian Eatery site in Rochester Hills for a new facility called Griffin Claw Brewing Company ThinkTank and Test Kitchen.
All of the company's new small batch, seasonal, and specialty beers, alongside its spirits line will be developed and produced at 8,000-square foot facility. The brewery's bottling line will also be moved to Rochester Hills to make way for new brewing equipment including a high gravity system. In addition to increasing its production capacity, the ThinkTank and Test Kitchen "will be a teaching and training facility not only for our brewers but for customers looking to learn about the brewing process and culture," owner Scott LePage says in a release. A representative for Griffin Claw tells Eater that the second location may eventually house a taproom, though it's not part of the immediate expansion.
