FERNDALE — Matthew Baldridge tells Eater that he's run into some unexpected buildout issues at preeservation dining concept, The Conserva Ferndale. In order to complete the project and get The Conserva off the ground in the next four to six weeks, Baldridge has launched an $8,000 GoFundMe campaign. The project has received around $500 in donations so far. [EaterWire]

GROSSE POINTE PARK — The wallpaper is going up at soon-to-open dessert café Michele Bezue Confections. In the meantime, people can take Bezue's desserts (including some gluten-free options) for a test drive during a pop-up event on January 31. Tickets are $10. [Facebook]

CORKTOWN — Long-awaited Corktown eatery, Katoi, is teasing a few interior shots of the buildout including the booth installations. Construction is expected to wrap this month with an opening between February and March. [Instagram]
