The lunch service at Corktown's brine-loving eatery Gold Cash Gold has undergone several alterations over the restaurant's short lifespan, from introducing new burgers to expanding into weekday brunch. Now, chef Josh Stockton tells Eater he is ready to do away with the midday service and focus selling retail products.
The restaurant took its first foray into retail at the Corktown Farmers Market last summer, selling house-baked sourdough loaves and kimchi. "We had great success with this and want to expand and be able to sell these products out of the restaurant and hopefully eventually at other stores as well," Stockton says. GCG plans to focus on hot sauces, kimchi, pimento cheese, and other popular ingredients featured on the menu. Lunch service will continue through Friday with new hours beginning on January 25.
Gold Cash Gold's new winter hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to midnight on Friday; 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday; Happy Hour runs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday; brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
