TAQO Detroit appears to be undergoing some sort of change. A tipster sends word that staff were notified Monday by text that TAQO was closing. A chalkboard sign at the restaurant also confirmed the closure, although the message's wording implies that it's a temporary hiatus.

Unable to reach TAQO by phone, Eater contacted its sister restaurant R.U.B. BBQ Pub. Management at R.U.B. were also not immediately available for comment, but a staff member stated that the restaurant (which is less than two years old) was about to undergo renovations. Stay tuned for more details.

Update, 1/13, 1:10 p.m.: TAQO Detroit is closed for renovations until Tigers' spring training, according to a social media post.

We're taking this time off to create a better space. We look forward to having you back at the end of February!
