FERNDALE—The Oakland is ushering in fall with a new menu of autumnal cocktails. New additions include Grandma's Apple Rye ("rye, apple brandy, house-made cinnamon syrup and house-made coffee pecan bitters") and Buddy Cop ("rum, house-made smoked pineapple syrup, Angostura bitters and house-made ginger beer with a house-candied ginger"). Stop in Tuesday through Friday from 5 to 6:30 for $5 drinks. [Metro Times]

DELIVERYWIRE—College students will soon be able to get their favorite food group — Chipotle — delivered right to their dorms. The burrito slingers are partnering with San Francisco-based app Tapingo to provide delivery to University of Michigan, Michigan State, and Eastern Michigan University starting this fall. [M Live]

SOUTHFIELD—Great Lakes Culinary Center will host a "Dining in the Dark" event on Thursday, September 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. Chef Reva Constantine will serve four courses to blindfolded guests, who won't be able to see what the food looks like until after the meal.
