THE CRITICS — Molly Abraham strikes again with a new list of "dining rules." Abraham is not a fan of, well, really much of anything. The critic abhors food served on rooftops and isn't she going to be ordering a dish of flaming saganaki anytime soon. Abraham also has an aversion to bulletproof glass-protected kitchens (we'll keep all those delicious Dutch Girl Donuts and Motor City Soul Food to ourselves then) as well as drinking beer from bottles. FOOD TV — Another food company from Metro Detroit's ranks is headed to a television competition. McClary Bros., producer of delicious drinking vinegars, will appear on the ABC series Shark Tank at 9 p.m. on September 25. [Hometown Life]
CAFFEINE NATION — Daniel Martinez formerly of the shuttered 1515 Broadway Café in Detroit has opened a new coffee shop in Pontiac. The Alley Cat Café debuted Dream Cruise weekend. [The Oakland Press]
