A new sports bar will fill the former Tom's Oyster Bar space in downtown Detroit in October. The oyster bar's Detroit location quietly went out of business earlier this year, though the Royal Oak spot is alive and well. The Detroit Free Press reports that Briggs Detroit will offer 24 beers on tap and six tapped cocktails, alongside house-made burgers and other bar bites. Owners Rocco Tossone and Tim Moored are remodeling the space and adding traditional touches like hockey scoreboards and team memorabilia as well as plenty of TVs. The pair is also planning to unveil a rooftop bar area in the spring. Stay tuned for more details.
