Craft beer lovers rejoice! The wait is finally and gloriously over for bottle shop and bar 8 Degrees Plato Detroit. The Cass Avenue store soft opens tonight with a 16-tap bar, growler fills, and ultra fresh craft beer. "I had begun to believe this day would never get here," co-owner Brigid Beaubien tells Eater.
Paper will remain on the windows until next week, but people are encouraged to come in and check out the freshly renovated space and pick up a custom six-pack. The official grand opening will be held next weekend with special events planned throughout next week including visits by Bell's, Short's, and Greenbush brewing. Fans can get updates on the events via Facebook. Plato will offer several collaborative brews on tap including Axiom by Greenbush and Beaubien's Ribbon Farm by Right Brain.
Plato is the first of several new additions headed for the former Chinatown complex. Upcoming openings include a tattoo parlor and The Peterboro, an Asian-inspired restaurant expected to open this fall.
8 Degrees Plato Detroit's soft opening hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday , 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. Regular hours will begin on Tuesday.
