HAZEL PARK — Mabel Gray has a tentative opening date of September 29, reports Sylvia Rector. Chef James Rigato also says he plans to host guest chefs like friend and Top Chef winner Mei Lin who will visit on October 5 for their sold-out Savor Detroit dinner. The restaurant offers some sneak peeks of the interior including shots of a painting by artist Greg Oberle depicting Diana of the Dunes, a folk legend that inspired the restaurant's name. CASS CORRIDOR — After several unfortunate delays, 8 Degrees Plato Detroit is aiming for an opening sometime within the next week. The company reports to fans that they have "a couple of big nights planned for the week of Sept 14-19" including visits by Bell's, Greenbush, and Short's. [Facebook]

FERNDALE — Plant-based restaurant GreenSpace Café received its preliminary health inspection this week. Eater has reached out for more details on a possible opening date. [Facebook]
