DOWNTOWN — Standby will debut in October according to bartender Joe Robinson. Traditional "Standby" cocktails like old fashioneds will cost around $8, with overall drink prices averaging around $12. Construction on The Skip is slated to begin next week with an expected spring 2016 opening. In the meantime, Standby is teasing menu items and specialty drinks on Instagram. [DBiz/Instagram]

GROSSE POINTE PARK — Artisan marshmallow maven Michele Bezue's relocated shop hosts its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. According to a release, Detroit Marshmallow Co. will offer pop-up style retail until the kitchen build-out is complete. [EaterWire]
