UP FOR GRABS — The Shelby Congress Building in downtown Detroit is undergoing renovations, which include plans for ground floor restaurant space. Owner Roger Basmajian also purchased another building at 220 W. Congress St. and a building at 751 Griswold St., which will eventually be revamped for office and restaurant use. Space at the Shelby Congress is already available for rent at $25 per square foot. [DBiz]

SWITCHEROOS — Dennis Kefallinos sports bar Coaches Corner has relocated to the Michigan Building, replacing Niki's Fresh Express. Niki's had only recently filled the vacant Bagley Bar Space. [MT]

STARWATCH — While everyone else was going about their business, Jack White and friends were also spotted hitting up Republic and Tina Knowles (aka Beyonce's mom) and Vivica Fox stopped by Armondo's. In other news, Harry Styles of One Direction munched on Detroit Pop Shop popsicles today.

RENOVATION REPORT — The Royal Park Hotel's Brookshire Restaurant makeover is wrapping up on schedule. The Brookshire will be reborn as Park 600 Bar + Kitchen by mid-September with craft cocktails, gas oven pizzas, and dishes like Asian-spiced pork shank. [DBiz]

MENU PORN — Don't panic but Honest John's made a few tweaks to its menu and gave the whole thing a new look. [Facebook]

BEER HERE — Bagger Dave's is now offering growler fills at its taverns. Growlers are $15 and $12 to $15 for a fill-up. Just don't try to drink them in the restaurant. [EaterWire]

POP-UPS — While the kitchen build-out is still on hold (the current restaurant boom is placing increased demand on contractors), Hamtramck newcomer Bumbo's is getting ready to roll out a few regular pop-ups. Beginning September 13, co-owner Tia Krawcyzk tells Eater the bar will open at 12:30 p.m. for football, drink specials, and food. Additionally, Bumbo's plans do a weekly Wednesday pop-up this fall with a rotating menu. [EaterWire]
