Inside Detroit Water Ice Factory on a Thursday at 8 p.m.

Take a peek at Detroit's new water ice shop.

Earlier this month, Detroit Water Ice Factory debuted in downtown Detroit, replacing the former Ben & Jerry's. The Factory, founded my Detroit Free Press columnist and Tuesdays with Morrie author Mitch Albom, serves a frozen dessert popular in Philadelphia and New Jersey. According to the Free Press, Albom enlisted the help of Jon and Adriana Adams, owners of Primo Water Ice in New Jersey to help develop the sorbet-like treat for Detroit. Proceeds from the shop go to the columnist's charity, S.A.Y. Detroit. Photographers Michelle and Chris Gerard visited the Water Ice Factory on a Thursday evening. Check out the scene around 8 p.m. at the shop.
