With the first round of voting complete, the Hatch Detroit contest revealed its top four finalists at noon today. Brick-and-mortar Caribbean restaurant concept Norma G's, ice cream sandwich shop Eskimo Jack's, food and wine shop The Royce Detroit, and Live Cycle Delight were the top picks.
The contestants will move on to a final round of public voting ending August 28 at noon. The winner will receive a $50,000 grant from Comerica Bank, as well as public relations support, free architectural renderings, and video promotion. Hatch reports that more than 15,000 public votes have been cast so far in this year's contest. Food and drink concepts have won big in past contests. Sister Pie, La Feria, and Batch Brewing Company are all alums, though other restaurants have received elevated attention thanks to the contest. The public can cast votes on the Hatch website and Facebook page.
