Long-awaited Laika Dog finally made its debut at the UFO Factory this month, and indecisive diners beware: The menu has a dizzyingly vast array of topping options from which to assemble your wiener, from hummus and cucumbers to corn maque choux and pinot grigio mushrooms. Pile 'em on a grass-fed organic all-beef dog, or there's also vegan frankfurters or grilled cheese sandwiches.
There are plenty of pre-assembled options, too, like a PB&J dog with Thai peanut sauce and raspberry-ancho-mint jelly; tots or crinkle fries have nearly as many topping and sauce options, including vegan "cheese" and meatless chili. The ordering process is simple: Just belly up to the bar and check the desired boxes on an order sheet, then jam out on vintage arcade games and cheap beer while you await your food.
Laika Dog — named, one can safely assume, after the first dog to journey into space — is now open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
