While Metro Detroit is no stranger to new pizzerias, Dearborn's Brera Pizza & Salad Co. offers a distinctly local perspective. Creator Michael Jaafar recruited Top of the Pontch's chef Justin Vaiciunas to help design Brera's menu. The result is an affordable, fast-casual concept with artisanal touches like house-cured prosciutto. Initial expansion plans for the brand have been put on hold, there's still some hope that Brera will come to Detroit, Ann Arbor, and other metro area suburbs soon.
The 2,500-square-foot restaurant has seating for approximately 40 customers on the patio and 40 inside at tall communal tables and four tops. The design is distinctly modern with a mixture of wood and concrete throughout. Lights in rounded clear fixtures hang from the ceiling that features exposed ducts. Photographers Chris and Michelle Gerard offer and inside look at this new Dearborn eatery.
