Look Inside The Keep, Now Mixing Cocktails Near Cadillac Square

Patios and natural light abound at the second rendition of this downtown cocktail bar.

After a soft opening weekend, The Keep is now serving craft cocktails near Cadillac Square. Located in the former 1701 Executive Cigar Bar, bartender/managers Evan Dawber and Leonard Lopp a list of seven strong house drinks here including the Gem of the Market, a refreshing mix of Old Forrester Bourbon, Green Chartreuse, lime, ginger and a sprig of mint. Beer and wine are also available, but don't expect anything too crafty (this is a cocktail bar after all).

Where the Harmonie Park location was dimly lit, the Cadillac Square space is comparatively sunnier on the ground floor with plenty of natural light and sizeable patio. Owner Jason Frankel says the interior is still due for a minimal facelift (they'll switch out sound systems, lighting, and paint), but Eater photographers Chris and Michelle Gerard offer a first look at the new location.
