One of many new pizza chains invading Metro Detroit, MOD Pizza opens its first Michigan franchise location in Livonia today. The Seattle-based brand features a build-your-own pizza model and is celebrating the grand opening with a "Pay What You Want" fundraiser. All proceeds from the day will go to support the Livonia Public Schools Education Foundation. Team Schostak Family Restaurants has franchising rights in the Michigan and plans to open 25 locations over the next five years. A Northville MOD Pizza is due to open this August, according to the company's website. [EaterWire]
