Detroit's Atwater Brewery is finally releasing a line of spirits, a rep for the company tells Eater. The new line of booze will launch Thursday on the one-year anniversary of Atwater in the Park's debut. Atwater's distilling brand will offer tequila, rum, gin, whiskey, and vodka and the brewery is also unveiling its first limited release large format beer, called 1936. In December, Atwater president Mark Reith said the spirits would first be released in the tap room and restaurant with distribution to follow later this year.

Metro Detroit's craft spirits market is expanding with companies such as MotorCity Gas, Two James, Detroit City Distillery, and Our/Detroit cropping up in the past several years. In April, Valentine Distilling revealed it is expanding production. Atwater isn't the first local brewery to get into the distilling game. Griffin Claw Brewing Company began distilling in 2014 and now offers spirits by the bottle.
