ROYAL OAK — Metro Detroit Taste Fest is coming to Royal Oak Thursday night beginning a 6:30 p.m. (VIP, $65) and 7:30 p.m. (general admission, $45). Admission includes unlimited food samples and, depending on your ticket, up to 15 cocktail and beverage samples. 1917 American Bistro, Gumbo's, Mt. Chalet, Mexicantown Bakery, and Nice Modern Creamery are among the vendors. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN — Hour Detroit magazine recently released their Best of Detroit issue and will top-off the reveal with a star-studded gala event June 19 at MotorCity Casino Hotel. The 21-and-up event will feature food, drink, and live entertainment. Tickets are $140 VIP or $95 general admission. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN — Filipino fusion pop-up Sarap is making an appearance from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday at POP. The menu features fried lumpia, lechon kawali BLT sliders, a "chicken trio (liver, trotter, and wing), a pork adobo quesadilla, and more. [EaterWire]

HAMTRAMCK — Get a first look at some items headed for the menu at The Huron Room, the new project by Jacques Driscoll and chef Les Molnar at Yemans Street on June 12. The seven-course menu designed by Molnar includes dishes like smoked trout pasta, turducken meatloaf, and confit miso chicken thigh. Tickets are $50. [EaterWire]
