With the old Sunday Dinner Company sign removed, window panes freshly painted, and a completed interior, Islandview's The Bridge is poised to open May 22.
The owners have selected Rayshard Futrell, a 24 Grille alumn, to take the reigns as general manager. Futrell says he hopes guests experience an outstanding level of service at the restaurant. "We've found a good mixture of seasoned servers and inexperienced servers," he says.
While a complete menu isn't on hand yet, co-owner Alicia Strong says the food designed by chef Jerry Nottage will include items like mac & cheese, crab cakes, and lamb nachos.
Staff are still in the process of training and the restaurant is waiting on computers; however, The Bridge will host previews during Mother's Day brunch and on May 16 during the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The menu will be limited during the race, Strong says, but visitors can expect a cocktail called "The Cure" on special. Strong adds that 10 percent of proceeds from the drink will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation. The restaurant is currently accepting reservations from Mother's Day.
