The cart, which offers a menu composed of mac & cheese dishes and fries, is a frequent flyer at Eastern Market and Cadillac Square.
Update, 05/06, 12:23 p.m.: Former owner Dan Gearig tells Eater that The Mac Shack's employees "are a major reason the Shack has grown year over year." Gearig says the food trucks have allowed he and wife Lindsay to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurship among their staff members. "These guys have put their time in, and I know they're hungry to apply what they've learned. We have no doubt that they'll crush it and move on to contribute even more to Detroit in the near future."
The couple will continue to operate their other truck, El Guapo, and Gearig says that they have a new project on the horizon. "We knew it was the right time to toss them the keys and free up precious time and capital to fully immerse ourselves in the next adventure."
