Frita Batidos is exploring opportunities to bring the Cuban burger restaurant concept to Detroit, chef/owner Eve Aronoff tells Eater. "We are seriously looking into opening Frita in Detroit and actually have been for the past year," she says.

Aronoff adds that the company initially hoped to sign a lease in the First National Building, but could not come to an agreement on terms. "At this point, I feel like Frita is in a good place to take on that challenge and very excited about it!" The chef says that the positive fan response from her recent social media post is an encouraging sign that she's making the right move. The company is continuing to explore real estate options in the Detroit area.
