The buzz around Midtown's Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktails is building as the restaurant nears opening day. Tonight, curious diners can get a first look at the eatery during Bailout Productions' Whiskey Rebellion III featuring cocktails by head bartender Kaytee Querro and bites by chef Doug Hewitt.
For the past week, the Chartreuse has hosted exclusive soft opening events for friends and select members of the press. Critic Sylvia Rector paid a visit and calls the eatery "deliciously promising." Chef Hewitt's menu is kept small and seasonal in part due to the restaurant's extremely small refrigerator. "Chartreuse feels clean, airy, and open with oversized windows, high ceilings, and chartreuse-colored walls," Rector writes.
