Pleasant Ridge brunch hot spot Mae's has been sold according to former owner Jessica Lundgren who announced the news via Facebook today. The popular diner was purchased by the owners of The Whistle Stop, a Birmingham breakfast restaurant. The new owners will close Mae's for several days of renovation and plan to reopen soon.

I want to thank all of our wonderful loyal customers for the past 5 years. Mae's has been such a wonderful home away...

Mae's open kitchen and fresh food made it a lively spot on weekends. Diners frequently lined up waiting for tables or a seat at the bar. Stay tuned for more details.
