A Look Inside Sister Pie, West Village's Corner Bakery

Take a look inside West Village's new pie bar.

Two and a half years after founding Sister Pie, owner Lisa Ludwinski is ready to open the doors to her corner bakery in West Village. Photographers Chris and Michelle Gerard offer a look inside ahead of the anticipated opening. While the exterior of the 1920's brick building remains mostly unaltered, inside the space has been transformed into a cozy pie bar and professional-grade kitchen.

Ludwinski enlisted Laavu Studios to complete the designs and buildout and credits the firm's principal Kaija Wuollet with building the communal table, L-shaped bar, and thrifty door wall. In addition to newer appliances and furniture, the bakery features many personal touches including a glass case contributed by Ludwinski's grandmother and mugs donated by friends, family, and the surrounding community. Sister Pie opens tomorrow.
