The Bronx is temporarily shutteredaccording to Metro Times, after allegedly being damaged during last Thursday's thunderstorm. The weekly reports that a building behind the neighborhood dive was struck by lighting. Debris from the building purportedly fell onto (and possibly into) the bar.

An eye-witness reports fencing up in between the two buildings, and that crews are hard at work on the roof of the bar.

A source tells Metro Times the bar may reopen by Saturday. Eater has reached out to the bar's owners for comment.

Update, 04/14, 3:38 p.m.: An Eater contributor confirms that hard-hatted workers are making repairs to the back side of The Bronx Bar's roof.
