THE CRITICS—MOCAD's Café 78 earned a three-star review from heavy menu hating critic Molly Abraham. The "paper napkin-casual" café stands out thanks to its high profile owners Mark Djozlija (Wright & Co.) and Dave Kwiatkowski (The Sugar House), says Abraham, who favors the restaurant's "addictive roasted and Moroccan spiced cashews" and a "luscious celery soup topped with garlic croutons and chives." CURBED CUTS—Detroit's art deco edifice, the Fisher Building, will soon be on the auction block. The New Center building has fallen into foreclosure. But what of the Stella Good Coffee, Zenith, and other vendors currently leasing space in the building? The Detroit Free Press seems optimistic that any prudent buyer would honor the building's multiyear leases. [Curbed/Freep]
FOOD TV—Chef Nikita Sanches and partner Jessica Imbronone didn't manage to snatch up that coveted investment in Rock City Pies on Tuesday's episode of Restaurant Startup; however, Sanches did earn high praise for his cooking from hosts Tim Love and Joe Bastianich. [Freep]
