The partners behind Ferndale's forthcoming GreenSpace Café have decided to delay their mid-March opening, according to representative Cyndi Summers who says the owners plan to expand the vegan restaurant into a neighboring Nine Mile storefront.

Recently vacated by Just 4 Us, the additional space will double the plant-based, oil-free eatery's capacity, allowing room for additional seating as well as a bar/lounge area, basement storage, and office space, Summers tells Eater. "Originally the plan was to phase into the new space; however, the team determined it was more cost effective to reconfigure and expand the entire space now," she says. This pushes back the restaurant's expected opening date to somewhere around late-April or early-May. In the meantime, GreenSpace is hiring for all positions.
