Granite City Food & Brewery's second Michigan location will be unveiled in Northville on April 8. The 10,200-square-foot restaurant seats 300 and features an outdoor patio dining area with 80 seats. On opening day, the company has pledged to donate 10 percent of the revenue from meal purchases to Northville Civic Concern's food bank. Additionally, customers at the Grand Opening will receive a free Brew Rewards membership, which allows patrons to accumulate points for restaurant discounts.
Granite City will offer local beers as well as four signature brews. The company's beers are produced using the Fermentus Interruptus process, which sounds more like a medical condition than a brewing method. Basically, Granite City produces "wort" (think sweet, unfermented grain tea) off-site and ships it to individual restaurants where it's then fermented.
Granite City already operates one location in Troy and the Minnesota-based company is also expected to open a location in the Renaissance Center this fall.
