Ferndale's Treat Dreams microcreamery, known for their inventive flavors, is taking over Midtown's shuttered Melt gelato shop, according to The Hungry Dudes.

Former Melt owner Aaron Haithcock reached out to Eater earlier this month confirming that the shop and all of its equipment was for sale. Two years of challenging winters and a severely delayed opening contributed to Melt's demise.

Treat Dreams owner Scott Moloney will have his hands full. The owner announced last week that he was venturing out on a side project with Zac Idzikowski to open Woodpile BBQ in Clawson. Moloney says he hopes to see Midtown's Treat Dreams open by May.
