The owners of Ferndale's 8 Degrees Plato are wrapping up work on their Cass Corridor bottle shop. To celebrate and support the final renovations, Plato joined forces with Greenbush Brewery to create a new beer called Axiom, a Belgian-style Tripel. "We helped brew the beer earlier this year in Sawyer and we are extremely proud of it. We will be the only store to have [it] during this first run," the owners write via Facebook.
The Axiom release will take place on April 23 at The Rust Belt in Ferndale and features comedy by David Dyer and Kate Brindle. Tickets for the event are $60 which includes beer tickets, Hippo's Hot Dogs, and a 4-pack of Axiom. The proceeds from the event will go to support the opening of Plato's Cass Corridor location and 10 percent will be donated to the Poverty and Social Reform Institute.
Eater stopped by the forthcoming location on Friday. Although the façade hasn't changed much since their initial purchase, inside one could hear the distinct sound of saws. The company estimated last fall that the new location would open in the first quarter of 2015. Tickets to the Greenbush release are available at the 9 Mile bottle shop.
