Social Sushi's $150K Crowfunding Campaign; Jolly Pumpkin's Shiny New Sign

MIDTOWN — Hallelujah! The sign is up at Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria. The restaurant is expected to open early April.

ROOSEVELT PARK — Shipping container restaurant startup Social Sushi's crowdfunding campaign went live today. The partners hope to open a 40-seat sustainable sushi restaurant headed by chef Tanaya Hutson with a 3,600-square-foot outdoor bar, patio, and amphitheater in Corktown. The company is trying to raise $150,000 in the next 91 days.

MIDTOWN — Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktails offered even more photos of the completed "living wall" on Wednesday. The Midtown restaurant still hopes to open sometime in April.

NORTHVILLE — Ice cream parlor Browndog is already open for business, but the creamery is finally receiving a sign today, according to the company's Facebook page.

WEST VILLAGE — Sister pie is hiring pie bar bakers and counter staff for the anticipated bakery.

CORKTOWN — Norma G's food truck will make its debut outing on March 22 to St. CeCe's. The truck will be serving Caribbean food from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
