EVENTWIRE — Bartenders will compete in five rounds of cocktail competitions in order to claim the title of Detroit's Best Bartender, beginning April 26 at Café 78. Each round of Bar Fight will pit eight competitors against each other (one bartender per bar, per round). Participants will have 10 minutes to make six drinks (one per judge, plus three shots for the crowd). The winner will move onto the final round and compete for the title. [EaterWire]

CROWDSOURCING — Chefs Roy Choi and Daniel Patterson have surpassed their $100,000 fundraising goal for Loco'l. The chefs hope to revolutionize the fast food industry with affordable, delicious, wholesome food. The chain will open two stores in California, but Choi has suggested Detroit as a third possible location. Take a look inside Loco'l's test kitchen now. [EaterWire]

DRINKS — The new superfood trend is mushroom tea. Why not jump on the bandwagon? According to a post on Facebook, Forest Grill offers porcini tea paired with grilled sturgeon. [EaterWire]
