Micro whiskey distillery, Motor City Gas officially starts pouring at 10 a.m. today. The company, located in the space formerly occupied by Vintner's Cellar in Royal Oak, is two years in the making, co-owner Rich Lockwood tells Eater. Initially, the distillery will offer their blended Royal Oaked Rye, which the company "aged six months in small barrels," according to Crain's. Visitors can try a taste today for $2 and pick up a fifth for $36 or a pint for $25.
Motor City Gas's hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today; regular hours will be noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
