Demonstrating yet another sign of increased confidence in Detroit, Livonia-based TEAM Schostack Family Restaurants announced today that they plan to introduce major fast-casual chain, Applebee's, within Detroit city limits. Detroit's first Applebee's will be situated in the well-trafficked Gateway Marketplace on the corner of 8 Mile and Woodward.

Pending city approvals, restaurant construction will begin in June. The new location will reflect updates to the brand's look and layout including "high-rise ceilings, an expanded bar area, more televisions, and larger windows to provide more natural light, as well as décor and painted murals specific to the city of Detroit community." Approximately 100 salaried and hourly staff members will run the location.
