Peek Inside Batch Brewing Company's Cozy Corktown Taproom

Eater's photographers get an inside look at Detroit's first nano brewery ahead of the anticipated Thursday opening.

Once an eyesore, over the past year Batch Brewing Company has slowly transformed the vacant "Boxcar Building" into a warm and cozy hideaway off Porter Street. The interior is all white painted brick, exposed industrial ceilings, and reclaimed wood, accented by stainless steel brewing equipment. Long bars and communal seating recall the spirit of an old-fashioned beer hall. In the corner, blackboards declare the current tap list. Detroit's first nano brewery will eventually offer a small menu, but for now customers are encouraged to order or bring-in food from one of Corktown's many nearby eateries.

Batch Brewing Company's Grand Opening takes place from 4 p.m. to midnight on Thursday. The event will feature food, live music, and craft beer. 1400 Porter St., Detroit, MI.
