BOOZE NEWS — Bailout Production's annual Whiskey Rebellion returns from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on January 17. The Keep will host the 2016 event, which features whiskey-based cocktails by top bartenders in the area including Shane Bang (Standby), Rudy Leon (Selden Standard), Chas Williams (The Oakland), and Rick Paulger (Roast).  Tickets are $10. OPENING ALERT — Ypsilanti's new Lampshade Café debuted on Friday. The 1,700-square-foot venue features a coffee shop, bookstore, art gallery, art studio, yoga center, and more. [MLive]

SWITCHEROOS — Longtime Ecorse bar The Gin Mill will reopen with a new look and name this week. Now dubbed Johnnie's Bar & Grill, the owner describes it as a "working man's bar" with a "classy industrial" design thanks to a $350,000 remodel. [The News-Herald]

THE SHUTTER — Amigo's Mexican Restaurant will serve its last meal at the close of 2015 after 15 years in Taylor. The owners plan to continue operating their second location in Woodhaven and hope to reopen in a new spot soon. [Facebook]
